Matches that start close to home
Where you live shapes who you meet on Encounters.uk, starting with your daily match suggestions, which take in the distance between you along with age, the relationship you want and the interests you share. People in your own town and the next one along feature strongly as a result. Prefer to browse? Swipe through members, right for yes and left for no, and send a message when someone stands out.
Being local doesn’t mean being easy to find. Other members see your nearest town or city, never your street, your postcode or where you are right now, and you can block anyone who makes you uncomfortable.
VIP members can go further with advanced search, filtering by city, by distance and by what people are open to. From London to Lancashire, and far beyond
Greater London tops our member map, with the West Midlands second and Hampshire third, then West Yorkshire, Essex, Lancashire, Devon and Nottinghamshire. Beyond those eight, members are spread across all four nations of the UK: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Three in four of our members are aged 25 to 54. Each city page shows the age mix for its own area, and they can look quite different: Tyne and Wear’s members are mostly under 35, for instance, while Leicestershire’s are mostly 45 or over.
