Leeds Dating: Meet Singles in Leeds
Our West Yorkshire members come from Leeds and the towns around it, from Keighley to Castleford. Say hello in the section that suits you.
A county’s worth of singles, a city’s worth of dates
Dating in Leeds reaches well past the ring road. Our West Yorkshire members name home towns from Keighley in the Aire Valley to Castleford in the east. After Leeds itself, Bradford and Wakefield come up most, and the list runs on through Halifax, Huddersfield, Sowerby Bridge, Liversedge and Almondbury, with Hunslet and Killingbeck inside the city.
That spread works because so many local lines lead to one place. Bradford, Wakefield, Halifax, Huddersfield, Keighley and Castleford all have direct trains into Leeds station, so meeting in town is rarely a hassle for either of you.
Plan a Leeds first date in four easy moves
- Meet under cover. Leeds weather keeps you guessing, so start somewhere with a roof: the grand old halls of Kirkgate Market, the arcades of the Victoria Quarter or the domed Corn Exchange. All three are a few minutes apart and full of places for a coffee.
- Walk by the water. Follow the River Aire from Granary Wharf down to Leeds Dock, where the Royal Armouries museum has centuries of arms and armour to wander through. For something greener, the lakes of Roundhay Park are made for a long walk and a longer talk.
- Choose a drink that fits the mood. Call Lane and the streets around the Calls are loud and lively at weekends. Chapel Allerton and Headingley are calmer, with neighbourhood bars a short bus ride from town.
- Sort the way home. Leeds has no tram or underground, so evenings run on buses, trains and taxis. Find out when your last train leaves before the night gets away from you, tell a friend where you are, and read our safety advice before you go.

In your late 30s or 40s? Good timing
Our West Yorkshire members split into three almost equal parts: a third are under 35, slightly more than a third are 35 to 44, and just under a third are 45 or over. That middle band is the most common age here, so dating in Leeds in your late 30s or early 40s puts you among plenty of people at the same stage.

Pick your kind of Leeds date
About three in four West Yorkshire members are in Casual Encounters, for adults who want something fun and uncomplicated. Roughly one in seven has joined Single Encounters to find a relationship, and about one in ten is in Mature Encounters, the section for over 40s.
You sign up to each section separately, so start with one and add another later if you change your mind. Milf Encounters, the newest, is for experienced women and the younger men who like them.
Bradford and Wakefield, this page is yours too
Hoping to meet someone in Bradford? Start here. Bradford is the town our West Yorkshire members name most after Leeds, and the train between the two takes about twenty minutes. It was UK City of Culture in 2025, and Salts Mill in Saltaire and the mirror pool in City Park make good first dates of their own.
Wakefield comes next on that list. The Hepworth Wakefield gallery stands by the River Calder, and trains from Westgate reach Leeds in around a quarter of an hour, so a date in either place is easy to arrange.
Further afield, York and Sheffield have their own pages, and Manchester is just over the Pennines. To see how far your matches reach, read singles near me, or browse every city on our locations page.
Quick answers for Leeds singles
Is Leeds a good place to date in your 40s?
It is. Among our West Yorkshire members, 35 to 44 is the most common age, at a little over a third, and about one in five is 45 to 54. If you’d like to meet people over 40 first, Mature Encounters is built for exactly that.
What’s a good rainy-day date in Leeds?
Coffee in Kirkgate Market or the Victoria Quarter, then an hour in Leeds Art Gallery on The Headrow. All three are under cover and a short walk apart.
Do you have members in Bradford and Wakefield?
Yes. After Leeds, they are the two towns our West Yorkshire members give most often as home.
