Glasgow Dating: Meet Singles in Glasgow
From Byres Road to Bellshill, meet people who want what you want, and start the conversation tonight.
Glasgow singles, from Paisley to Motherwell
Glasgow dating is a West of Scotland affair: the people you’ll find live across the city and the towns around it. Our members in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and Dunbartonshire name places such as King’s Park and Linthouse south of the river, Cambuslang and East Kilbride to the south-east, Paisley, Elderslie and Bishopton to the west, and Coatbridge, Bellshill, Motherwell, Newmains and Shotts out in Lanarkshire.
With people that spread out, the city centre is usually the fairest place to meet. Somebody in Shotts and somebody in Paisley can both be in town by train, and nobody has to worry about parking or a designated driver.
Mostly 25 to 54, and ready to meet
Our Glasgow crowd sits squarely in the middle years. Just over a third are 25 to 34, just over a third 35 to 44 and about a quarter 45 to 54, which leaves hardly anyone at either end.

Easy first dates in the West End
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, home to a Spitfire hanging from the ceiling and Dalí’s Christ of Saint John of the Cross, is big enough that you’ll never run out of things to talk about. Afterwards, walk up through Kelvingrove Park past the university to Byres Road.
Ashton Lane, the cobbled lane just off Byres Road, is strung with lights and lined with bars, and the Botanic Gardens at the top of the road have the Kibble Palace glasshouse to shelter in when the weather turns, as it will.
Merchant City nights and East End views
The Merchant City, east of George Square, packs bars and restaurants into its old streets, so you can move on if the first place is too loud. If you both like live music, a gig at the Barrowland Ballroom is a Glasgow rite of passage.
By day, climb through the Necropolis behind the cathedral for a view right across the city, or follow the Clyde walkway west to the Riverside Museum and the tall ship moored beside it. On the Southside, Queen’s Park and Pollok Country Park, home of the Burrell Collection, are made for a long walk.
Subway, trains and the last one home
Glasgow’s Subway is a single loop of fifteen stations, nicknamed the Clockwork Orange, with trains running both ways. Hillhead puts you on Byres Road, Kelvinhall is the stop for Kelvingrove, Govan is handy for Linthouse, and Buchanan Street and St Enoch cover the centre. For Paisley, East Kilbride, Motherwell or Cambuslang, local trains leave from Glasgow Central, while Queen Street handles many lines to the north and east. Services thin out late in the evening and on Sundays, so know your last one.
If a match lives in the capital, trains from Queen Street reach Edinburgh Waverley in under an hour, so our Edinburgh page is worth a look, and Newcastle upon Tyne is the nearest English city we cover. Every other city is on our locations page.
Something casual, or something that lasts
Roughly three quarters of the Glasgow crowd use Casual Encounters, for adults who want a bit of fun and no expectations. About one in six are in Single Encounters, if you’d like someone to build something with, and the rest have joined Mature Encounters for dating after 40. They each have their own sign-up, and nothing stops you joining two.
Before you meet anyone new, have a quick read of our safety advice. A first meeting in a busy bar on Ashton Lane or in the Merchant City, with a friend who knows where you are, is a good habit wherever you date.
