Preston Dating: Meet Singles in Preston

This page covers the whole county, from the Blackpool seafront to Lancaster, Blackburn and Burnley. Pick your section and see who lives in your corner of Lancashire.

Meet someone anywhere in Lancashire

Dating in Preston comes with the rest of Lancashire attached. More of our Lancashire members live in Blackpool than anywhere else, with Preston next, then Blackburn, Lancaster, Darwen, Morecambe and Burnley. Smaller places turn up too, from Grimsargh on the edge of Preston to Scotforth and Torrisholme up near the bay. Members give all of these as home:

Most Lancashire towns are within about an hour of each other by road or rail, so a match in the next town along is still a realistic first date, not a weekend away.

Sea air for a first date

Blackpool’s Promenade was made for walking and talking. Stroll between the piers, ride the tram along the front towards Fleetwood, and if you are meeting in the autumn, the Illuminations turn an ordinary evening into an occasion. The Tower and the Winter Gardens are there when you want to get out of the wind.

Further north, Morecambe’s promenade has the Eric Morecambe statue and long sunsets over the bay. In Lancaster, Williamson Park and the Ashton Memorial look out over the same water, and the old quay on the River Lune has pubs for a drink afterwards.

Riverside walks and green space

In Preston, Avenham and Miller Parks run down to the Ribble, and the riverside path makes an easy first walk with benches along the way. Winckley Square’s gardens are a quiet spot in the middle of town, and the marina at Preston Docks is good for a stroll by the water. If you both like being outdoors, the Guild Wheel loops right round the city for a walk or a bike ride.

Over in East Lancashire, Towneley Park in Burnley and the moors above Darwen, with Darwen Tower on top, suit a walk and talk. Bring a coat: it’s Lancashire.

Preston puts all of Lancashire in reach

Preston sits at the crossroads of the county. The M6 runs north to Lancaster and south towards Wigan, the M55 takes you straight out to Blackpool, and the M65 heads east to Blackburn and Burnley. By rail, Preston is on the West Coast Main Line, with Lancaster a short hop north, trains out to Blackpool North, and the East Lancashire line running through Blackburn to Burnley. In Blackpool itself, the trams run the length of the seafront.

Live nearer the big cities? Manchester and Liverpool are both within easy reach of Preston by train, and each has its own page. You’ll find the rest under every location, and singles near me has tips for dating close to home.

Lancaster, welcome

Looking to start dating in Lancaster? This page has you covered. Lancaster and Morecambe are both in our Lancashire member list, along with Scotforth and Torrisholme, and Preston is less than half an hour south by train. A walk up to the Ashton Memorial is the obvious local first date, and the view across the bay is worth the climb.
